What is XC (or Nordic) Skiing?
XC Skiing, also known as Nordic Skiing, is a fun and exhilarating sport on skis, which are narrower and lighter than Downhill (Alpine) Skis. You will ski with lighter boots and bindings to enable you to ski on the groomed trails on the Perisher Nordic trail system (or sometimes off the groomed trails). Once you find the Nordic passion here, you may find yourself wanting to ski the groomed trails in the Northern Hemisphere.
With the lighter skis and boots, XC Skiers can ski up, as well as down hills, and can be totally independent of a lift system. You can follow the XC trails, or sometimes during Spring, you can explore the off-piste on the Hoar Frost. What a buzz!
